11 YEARS PLUS SENTENCE FOR SEAN COMBS

Prosecutors in New York are urging a federal judge to hand hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs more than 11 years in prison following his conviction on prostitution-related and assault charges.

Their submissions which came shortly after Tuesday midnight asked for at least 135 months in prison, which counts more than 11 years together with a $500,000 fine.

“His crimes of conviction are serious and have warranted sentences over ten years in multiple cases for defendants who, like Sean Combs, engaged in violence and put others in fear,” the prosecutors wrote comparing Diddy's case with other decade long jail terms .

The American popstar was found guilty in July , of allegedly forcing his girlfriends to engage in sexual acts with his male sex workers while on record.

The 55-year old is set to appear before U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian on Friday for the verdict.

In his defense Combs’ lawyers have pushed for a lighter sentence of at least 14 months, arguing that the 13 months behind bars duration is already an enough punishment for his guilt.and has probably “changed" him. They also appealed for the judge to disregard the evidence of abuse raised by his ex-girlfriends, pointing out that he was acquitted of coercing them into sex.

Prosecutors included statements from several accusers, including singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who testified that she was forced into degrading sexual encounters orchestrated by Combs.

“These events were degrading and disgusting, leaving me with infections, illnesses, and days of physical and emotional exhaustion before he demanded it all again. Sex acts became my full-time job, used as the only way to stay in his good graces,” Ventura said, describing how he controlled her “like a puppet.”

Another ex-girlfriend also testified that she had been forced to participate in sexual acts while Combs watched and recorded.

Prosecutors insisted the court should not be swayed by Combs’ attempts to frame himself as a victim.

“He is not the victim. The Court should focus on the very real effects that the defendant’s conduct had on the lives of the actual victims — his victims,” they argued.

The sentencing hearing will determine whether the Bad Boy Records founder faces over a decade in prison or a much lighter sentence as requested by his defence team.
