AFYA SACCO POACHES KIMISITU CEO

Afya Sacco has appointed Lwanga Mbeche as its new Chief Executive Officer in a surprise move that saw him exit Kimisitu Sacco, where he has served as CEO for the past six years.
Mbeche is credited with steering Kimisitu’s growth through digital transformation, expansion into new markets such as Kisumu and Mombasa, and securing ISO 9001 certification. He also oversaw increased membership, asset growth, and operational efficiency through initiatives such as the DOSA system.
He joins Afya Sacco with vast experience in cooperative leadership and finance, holding an MBA in Strategic Management, a degree in International Business Administration, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a member of ICPAK and other professional bodies.
Afya Sacco, a licensed deposit-taking Sacco that primarily serves health sector professionals, said Mbeche’s appointment is expected to bolster its growth strategy and reinforce its position in Kenya’s financial cooperative space.
