Chef Maliha Mohammed Calls Out The Kenyan Government For Not Recognizing Her Guinness World Record

Longest cooking marathon Guinness World Record breaker Chef Maliha in a YouTube video asks the government to recognize her achievement.

I never thought I would have to make this video, but today, I am speaking my truth."

I, Maliha Mohammed, a proud Kenyan chef, broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon—twice. I put my heart, sweat, and endless hours into making history, not just for myself, but for Kenya. But instead of being recognized and celebrated in my own country, I have been met with silence.

While other nations honor their record-breakers, I have waited in vain for acknowledgment from my county and government. Why is Kenyan talent only celebrated after the world recognizes it?

Today, I am calling on President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, CS Ababu Namwamba (Sports & Arts), and Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir (Mombasa County)—will you recognize me? Will you support Kenyan talent?

Join me in making this message heard!

Kenyan chef Maliha Mohammed holds the Guinness World Record for the longest solo cooking session, cooking for 150 hours and 11 seconds. She set the record in November 2023.
