CHIROMO HOSPITAL BRAESIDE BRANCH CLOSED AFTER THE DEATH OF NURSE SUSAN NJOKI

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has taken action against Chiromo Hospital Braeside Branch, located in Lavington, Nairobi county, following the death of a nurse. Susan Njoki Kamengere met her tragic end after reportedly being forcibly admitted to the facility by four men. The woman, who was admitted against her will, died hours later, sparking online uproar.
Following the death of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Toto Touch Organisation, the government demanded the immediate closure of the branch as investigations continue.
“Following further reports indicating the possible involvement of a member of your staff in the death of Susan Kamengere Njoki, the Council issues the following directives effective immediately: You are hereby instructed to evacuate all patients within 24 hours of receipt of this letter, cease all clinical services at the Chiromo Braeside Branch until further notice, and provide a report on steps taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future,” read the letter signed by David Kariuki, CEO and Registrar of KMPDC.
He added that the Council remains committed to ensuring patient safety and upholding the highest standards of care.
The letter was issued just hours after Frank Njenga, the founder and chairman of Chiromo Hospital Group, broke his silence days after the Njoki saga began. He expressed his remorse over the situation, stating that the hospital was doing all it could to ease tensions and bring the truth to light.
