DR. ERICK RUTTO APPOINTED TO WORLD CHAMBERS FEDERATION

Dr. Erick Rutto, President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), has been appointed to the General Council of the World Chambers Federation(WCF). His appointment was announced by WCF Chair Rifat Hisarciklioglu, who emphasized the importance of ensuring inclusive representation, particularly from Africa and other historically underrepresented regions. Dr. Rutto will join a 39-member Council comprising 20 elected and 19 appointed representatives from all global regions, including the America, Africa and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

The General Council is tasked with establishing ad-hoc working groups to address key issues aligned with the WCF’s program of action. The new Council’s mandate reinforces WCF’s ongoing efforts to enhance inclusivity and global impact through diverse leadership. Dr. Rutto’s appointment comes on the hills of a significant milestone for the continent, the first WCF Congress held in Africa.

Hosted by KNCCI in April in Nairobi, the event welcomed over 65 chambers from across the world and was officially opened by Kenyan President William Ruto.The WCF-Africa Congress and regional summits continue to provide platforms for global chamber leaders to tackle shared challenges and opportunities from a regional perspective.
