EACJ Urged to Enforce Treaty

The East African Court of Justice (EACJ) has been urged to ensure that member states uphold their treaty obligations while effectively managing internal affairs.

During the 3rd EACJ Conference, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Uganda's Attorney, warned that failing to acknowledge the challenges faced by individual states could undermine regional stability.

He emphasized that discussions on treaty enforcement must be grounded in reality to ensure that policies do not infringe on the sovereignty of other member states.

Attorney Generals of member states were also encouraged to engage in continuous dialogue to resolve disputes and reinforce compliance with regional agreements.
