EDUCATION CS JULIUS OGAMBA TO ANNOUNCE KUCCPS PLACEMENT RESULTS TODAY

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba is today expected to release the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) placement results for the 2024 KCSE candidates.
The announcement comes as thousands of students who sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams last year anxiously await to know their fate regarding university and college admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to the Ministry of Education, KUCCPS has completed the placement process for all qualifying students, with emphasis placed on merit, student choices, and available slots. A total of 246,391 candidates who scored C+ and above are eligible for university placement. KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome has assured that there are more than 300,000 available slots in public and private universities, meaning all qualified candidates will be accommodated.
CS Ogamba had earlier indicated that the placement results would be made public this week to allow institutions of higher learning and students to begin preparations ahead of the new academic calendar.
Following today’s release, students will be able to access their placement details through the KUCCPS student portal and begin applying for government funding through the Higher Education Financing (HEF) portal. Applicants will be required to submit their KCSE result slips, birth certificates or national IDs, and evidence of family income as part of the financial support application process.
The government has also reaffirmed its commitment to funding higher education under the new funding model that combines scholarships, loans, and household contributions based on the student’s financial background.
Today’s announcement is expected to provide clarity and relief for thousands of families across the country as they plan for the next phase of their children’s education.
