EX-BUNGOMA GOVERNOR WANGAMATI APPEARS BEFORE EACC OVER KSH70M GRAFT CASE

Former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati on Monday September 1, 2025, honored a summons by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) following graft allegations linked to his tenure.
Wangamati, who arrived at the Integrity Centre in Nairobi around 8:00 am accompanied by his lawyers, is facing charges of embezzlement, abuse of office, conflict of interest, and violation of procurement laws.
His appearance comes after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) approved his prosecution on August 29, alongside more than ten individuals, including relatives and close associates.
