Police in Garissa County have arrested a female suspect found in possession of a stolen firearm and other items linked to a recent robbery.
The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by officers under the Deputy Regional Criminal Investigations Officer (RCIO) for the North Eastern Region. The suspect was tracked to her residence in Bula Kartasi Estate, where a Glock pistol with a magazine loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition was recovered.
Investigators say the firearm had been stolen during a violent robbery reported at the Garissa Police Station on August 5, 2025. Also recovered were the complainant’s wallet containing their national ID card, the complainant’s wife’s ID, a Kenya Police Service Certificate of Appointment, a military identification card, a smock jacket, a police belt, and several swords.
Police are holding the suspect in custody as investigations continue to determine her role in the robbery and whether she is linked to other criminal activities. She is expected to be arraigned in court once processing is complete.
