Gachagua Urges Nyanza to Avoid Clash with Mount Kenya People

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked supporters of Raila Odinga from the Nyanza region to stop seeing the Mount Kenya people as enemies. He said the real issue is with President William Ruto, not Raila Odinga.

"I want to take this opportunity to tell Raila's supporters from Nyanza not to fight the mountain people because we are not their enemies at all. We have a problem with the president, not Raila Odinga," Gachagua said.

His remarks comes as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections. Gachagua seems to be reaching out to the Nyanza region, hoping to bring the two communities closer.

Gachagua’s message to Nyanza could be part of a plan to win more support for the next election. Some political experts believe that unity between these regions could change Kenya’s political future.
