GLORILLA FACES DRUG CHARGES AFTER BURGLARY AT GEORGIA HOME

American rapper Gloria Hallelujah Woods popularly known as GloRilla has been charged with felony drug possession following a burglary at her Georgia residence. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a break in at Wood’s home on Saturday at 1.30am after reports that three intruders had entered the property and were stealing items when an armed occupant fired shots at them. The suspects fled and no injuries were reported. During the investigation, detectives noticed a strong smell of suspected illegal narcotics, prompting the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force to obtain a search warrant.

Authorities reported finding a significant amount of marijuana in plain sight inside the master bedroom closet. GloRilla was not at home during the burglary, which remains under investigation. She later turned herself in on Tuesday, facing charges of felony marijuana possession and possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance. She was released the same day on $22,260 bond.

On social media, the rapper expressed frustration over the situation, posting on X: “Crazy! My house got home invaded Saturday while I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA All Star Game and instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis. Long story short, my house gets home invaded and I am the only one that gets arrested.” Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman stated, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice. At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, GloRilla first broke on to the rap scene in 2022 with her Grammy nominated single FNF (Let’s Go), quickly establishing herself as one of the fastest rising female rappers in the US. Her debut album Glorious was released in 2024, securing another two Grammy nominations for its lead single Yeah Glo!
