HISTORIC DIPLOMATIC MILESTONE

In a significant diplomatic engagement, President William Ruto warmly welcomed His Excellency Sultan Ali Allana, the envoy of His Highness Prince Rahim Ali Hussaini Aga Khan, to State House, Nairobi, on June 25, 2025. The high profile meeting marks a deepening of relations between Kenya and the Ismaili Imamat, a spiritual leadership institution with a global humanitarian and development legacy. During the official reception, President Ruto extended an invitation to His Highness the Aga Khan to visit Kenya.

The purpose of this anticipated visit is to formalize a landmark agreement recognizing the Ismaili Imamat and to confer upon His Highness and nation’s highest civilian honor- the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H). The meeting reflects Kenya’s recognition of the vital role of the Ismaili community and its leadership in fostering inclusive development, education, and healthcare. The signing of the recognition agreement will further bolster cooperation in key sectors while celebrating a shared commitment to pluralism and progress.
