Kisa East Member of County Assembly aspirant, Isaiah Ayaya, has declined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nomination. In a letter dated October 2 2025, Ayaya thanked ODM for considering him as a candidate but explained that the nomination certificate had been issued before the consultations were fully concluded.
“I write to sincerely thank the Orange Democratic Movement for reaching out to me with a view to having me run as its party candidate in the forthcoming by-elections for the member of the County Assembly for Kisa East,” read the letter.
“Regrettably, the nomination certificate was drawn and issued in my name before consultations could reach their logical conclusion.” On October 1 2025, the ODM party issued a statement saying that Isaiah, along with others, had been presented with nomination certificates.
“Our candidate for the Kisa East MCA seat in the November 27 by-election, Abraham Isaiah Ayaya, was today presented with the nomination certificate by the chairperson of NECC, Hon. Emily Awitta. The earlier nomination of Thomas Eshuya Oyolo has been revoked,” read the statement.
He further noted that by the time ODM reached out to him, his name had already been forwarded to the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), where he is a life member.
Consequently, he returned the ODM nomination certificate issued on 1st September 2025, reaffirming his commitment to DAP-K.
