JUSTINA WAMAE CLARIFIES 2027 PRESIDENTIAL BID

Former Roots Party deputy presidential candidate Justina Wamae has clarified her political intentions regarding the 2027 General Election, stating that while she has not officially declared a presidential bid, she remains politically active and is exploring her options.
In an interview, Wamae addressed speculation surrounding her future, stating, “I will be around… I’m still looking out for options and when the time comes, I’ll tell Kenyans.” She added that her focus remains on changing political mindsets and promoting policy-based leadership, not just seeking power.
Wamae described herself as “a small fish” in a sea of political “sharks,” suggesting that she prefers to bide her time and avoid political attacks until she is better positioned.
Her remarks come amid growing calls from some Gen Z activists for radical political change. However, Wamae urged young people to focus on the ballot box rather than protests. “Gen Z, stop telling us you’re party-less… Can you register as voters?” she posed, emphasizing that democratic change must come through constitutional means, not marches to State House.
Wamae’s latest statements suggest a cautious but calculated approach to 2027, where she could emerge as a third-force candidate, promoting alternatives outside traditional political camps.
