KDF OFFICERS KILLED 5 AL SHABAAB TERRORISTS AT BONI FOREST

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers have killed five al-Shabaab militants during an intelligence-led operation inside the Boni Forest. According to a statement released on Tuesday, August 26 2025, the Special Forces team discovered and neutralised a makeshift al-Shabaab camp in Lacta Mangai. Several other militants reportedly escaped with injuries.
“A KDF Special Forces team, on an intelligence-led patrol in Lacta Mangai within Boni Forest, raided and neutralised a makeshift al-Shabaab camp, killing five militants while several others escaped with injuries,” KDF said in a statement.
During the operation, KDF recovered significant operational equipment from the camp, including RPG launchers with warheads, AK-47 rifles, improvised explosive device (IED) materials, ammunition, tents, solar panels, and other supplies.
The military forces reaffirmed their commitment to Operation Amani (OAB), aimed at restoring lasting peace and security in Boni and allowing families to live without fear. KDF also urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to support the ongoing Operation Amani Boni mission. "Together we terminate terrorism and ensure a peaceful Boni," the statement concluded.
