KENYA RED CROSS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) has opened new volunteering opportunities in Nairobi, calling on Kenyans to join its humanitarian work.

According to the announcement, registration is ongoing at three field offices: Parklands (near City Park hockey grounds), Karen-Lang’ata (near Feed the Children Dagoretti Center), and Nairobi East (along Haile Selassie Avenue, near St. Peter’s Clavers).

A KRCS official highlighted the importance of community participation, saying:

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Red Cross. By opening up these opportunities, we want to give Kenyans a chance to be part of life-saving work in their communities.”

Volunteers will be expected to uphold the Red Cross Code of Conduct, demonstrate neutrality, reliability, and respect for the communities they serve. Training will also be provided to prepare them for the tasks ahead.

The roles cover emergency response, first aid, disaster preparedness, community outreach, and relief distribution—all aimed at strengthening disaster management and humanitarian support in the country.

Another Red Cross representative noted the mutual benefits of the program:

“This is a two-way partnership. Volunteers help us reach more people in need, and in return they gain training, exposure, and the satisfaction of making a real difference.”
