KING MSWATI SENDS SPECIAL INVITE TO KANG'ATA

Murang'a governor, Irungu Kang’ata, revealed on June 3 2025 that his presence in Swaziland, along with other county officials, stemmed from an invitation by the Government of His Majesty King Mswati of Swaziland, or Eswatini, to explain how devolution works in Kenya.
"I have been invited by the Government of His Majesty King Mswati, Swaziland, or Eswatini to explain how devolution works in Kenya. Very good reception,” read part of the statement written on his 'X' account.
In addition to explaining how devolution works to the king, Irungu Kang'ata attended events and launched a classroom block at Hillside Primary School. During the visit, Kang’ata was accompanied by, Ruchu Ward MCA Naomi Nyambura, Muguru Ward MCA Muchiri Moses and County executive member (CECM) for Water in Muranga county Mary Magochi.
Kang'ata who has been Muranga's governor since 2022 has received significant praise from his fellow governors, other leaders within the country, and citizens for his transformative development initiatives within the county.
His administration achievements span healthcare, agriculture, education, infrastructure, and digital innovation, earning him accolades such as the 2024 Innovative Management Award from the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) and the title of best-performing governor in the 2024 Infotrak rankings, with a 68% approval rating.
