KQ LAUNCHES LONDON DIRECT ROUTE

Kenya Airways has officially launched its new direct route from Nairobi to London Gatwick, expanding its global footprint and offering travellers more flexibility to the UK.

The inaugural flight took off from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Tuesday night, marking a major milestone in KQ’s international strategy.

“This new route gives our customers more choice while strengthening trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Kenya and the UK,” said Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka.

The Gatwick route becomes KQ’s second direct UK destination, alongside its long-standing Nairobi-Heathrow service.

Flights to Gatwick will operate three times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — giving both business and leisure travellers new options.

The launch comes amid rising demand for convenient, direct air travel, and is expected to boost tourism and economic links between the two nations.
