KURA ANNOUNCES 73-HOUR TRAFFIC DISRUPTION IN NAIROBI

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a planned 73-hour traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road in Nairobi, set to begin this Friday.
According to a public notice released on Monday, July 14, 2025, the disruption will start at 10:00 p.m. on July 18, 2025, and continue until 11:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025. The move is aimed at facilitating the installation of culverts along the affected roads.
Motorists and commuters using Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road are advised to expect delays and plan for alternative routes during the period. KURA said traffic marshals and police officers will be deployed to guide road users and ensure smooth traffic flow.
"The inconvenience is regretted, but the improvements are part of ongoing efforts to enhance urban mobility and infrastructure in the city," KURA said in a statement.
The agency urged all road users to exercise caution and adhere to the provided traffic guidance throughout the disruption.
This announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by government agencies to upgrade key road networks and ease congestion in Nairobi.
Alternative routes such as Outer Ring Road, Eastern Bypass, or the Nairobi Expressway may offer relief for commuters during the affected period.
