Harambee Stars striker Masoud Juma has announced that he will contest the Isiolo North parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.
The 28-year-old footballer said his decision was driven by a desire to champion youth empowerment, improve sports facilities and push for development in the arid county.
Juma, who has featured for Kenya’s national team and played professionally in Morocco and the UAE, told residents that his experience representing Kenya abroad had inspired him to “bring opportunities back home.”
If successful, Juma will challenge incumbent Joseph Samal Lomwa, who won the seat in 2022. His declaration has sparked lively debate among Isiolo residents, many welcoming his pledge to nurture young talent while others question whether he will trade the pitch for politics full-time.
