Nairobi detectives have opened investigations after the body of 35-year-old Sammy Kyengo who was found a week after he went missing on September 6, 2025. His body was discovered on September 13 hidden behind terraces under construction in a water sump at the Talanta City Stadium under construction in Jamhuri by casual workers who were cleaning away material to plaster. Police recorded injuries on the back of the head and the right neck, with blood coming from the nose and mouth, raising suspicion of murder. The reason for the murder and the killers are yet to be determined. The body was taken to the mortuary to be autopsied as detectives continue trying to determine the details of his death. The discovery forced stadium project managers to suspend work to allow the police to cordon off the site and take evidence. Family members said they had searched hospitals, police stations, and morgues in vain before receiving the tragic news. The other workers at the site supported that they had seen Kyengo on the day he disappeared, but they could not recall whether or not he left the compound. In a separate case in Naiberi, Uasin Gishu County, a man was apprehended by police for allegedly killing his daughter after a domestic altercation in Huruma.
