Moses Wetangula Directs MP Bernard Shinali To Take Charge of Malava Constituency After The Passing Of Injendi

In a statement on March 3. Moses Wetangula mentioned that there is no functional Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to hold a by election, hence the decision to have Bernard Shinali oversee the operations of the constituency.

“Noting that Malava electorate will wait longer before getting another MP due to delay in establishment of the IEBC, I assured them that I will ensure that their interests and projects started by the late Injendi are actualized.

To achieve these I directed Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali to take charge of the Malava constituency office and in consultation with me facilitate programmes that were being undertaken by the departed MP which included bursaries and NG-CDF projects among others.

This will help ensure continuity of services of people of Malava before electing a new MP to replace Hon. Injendi.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Bungoma County governor H.E Kenneth Lusaka, MPs, senior National and county government officers were present.''

Wetangula also asked politicians in Western to stop confrontational politics in funerals noting that such behavior portrayed the region negatively.

Wetangula raised concerns about politicians increasingly disrupting funerals in their fight for political supremacy, causing destruction that ultimately burdens the grieving families.
