Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has endured another turn of hostile reception in Kiambu County, on Saturday,April 5, during President William Ruto’s Mt Kenya tour.
The Kikuyu Law Maker, encountered wild heckles and jeers immediately after standing on top of the car to address the crowd in Lari, along Mau Mau road.
State House live stream showed the residents throwing their hands in their air in disapproval while others were recorded shouting him down.
Despite this, Ichung’wah ignored the hecklers, appreciating the President for launching several projects in the region;
“Nataka nikuambie ile kazi ya Kiambu, out of the Housing Fund, ile pesa tumeeka Kiambu is a total of Ksh46 billion na tunakushukuru na tunakuambia uendelee na hio kazi,” he said amid shouts.
“Kazi ya kelele isikuwe uwoga hata kidogo kwa sababu ile kazi tulikupea ni ile ya maendeleo,” he continued.
Days back, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, Ichung'wah was heckled in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua, where he strongly challenged the crowd that, he can't be intimidated.
“Let me tell you. No one can shout me down. I cannot be intimidated,” Ichung’wah could be heard saying after the first round of heckling.
The Law Maker, tried pacifying the residents but his efforts bore no fruits, forcing him to forfeit his speech.
