Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma has commended President Ruto’s Mt. Kenya tour terming it as successful, despite initial probabilities of hostility.

Kaluma said that the so-called "Wa Mucene coalition," have received a significant blow following Ruto's surprising and triumphant Mt.Kenya entry.

The Law Maker, added that the crowd were so organic and energetic, dismissing the claims of handouts.

"Mt. Kenya people love President Ruto. Those numbers and the energy on the ground cannot be staged or rented,” he said on his official X page on Saturday, 5, April, 2025.

This former critic of Ruto turned ally, metaphorical continued that when President Ruto's political wave stormed the region, his critics took flight in fear.

“... (they) disappeared with their tails between their legs when the King of the Mountain arrived home,” Kaluma said.

The ODM Mp singled out former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua among those frightened by Ruto's visit. He further urged the region to stop complaining about marginalisation, since The Head of State has dispatched to Mt. Kenya a disproportionate share of public service positions and national resources, to the detriment of other Kenyans.

Kaluma further advised Kenyans , specially Kambas, to join the broad based government, since it is mandated to serve all Kenyans irrespective of the ethnic background.

“It is wrong for any leader to keep any ethnic community out of government when all Kenyans are equal taxpayers,” Kaluma said.

“Doing so means paying taxes for others to eat! Let all my Kamba brothers take their rightful place in government.”
