MUSEVENI ARRIVES IN KENYA FOR KEY STATE VISIT AMID REGIONAL TALKS

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is in Kenya today, Wednesday July 30, 2025, for a three-day state visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic, trade, and security ties between the two East African nations.
President Museveni was received at State House Nairobi by President William Ruto shortly after arriving in the capital this morning. The two leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks touching on a wide range of issues, including cross-border trade, regional security, infrastructure development, and petroleum transit.
This visit comes a day after Museveni held discussions with Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda, focusing on cross-border cooperation, pastoralist conflict, and the long-standing dispute over Migingo Island.
President Ruto and Museveni are also expected to address a joint press conference later today. Sources indicate that several memoranda of understanding may be signed to enhance regional integration and advance key joint projects such as the Standard Gauge Railway and oil pipeline developments.
This marks Museveni’s latest diplomatic engagement aimed at reinforcing Uganda’s regional partnerships within the East African Community (EAC).
