NYANDARUA TURNS HOSTILE ON ICHUNGWA'H

Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah met a hostile crowd which heckled him in the presence of President William Ruto on Thursday, April 3, day three of 5-day, Mt. Kenya tour .
Nyandarua residents were slightly calm during the president's address, but things turned south when the Kikuyu Member of Parliament, took the microphone.

This was during the launch of the Last Mile Connectivity at Ol Kalou Town,

This first started with jeers , whistles, and the crowd grew restless halting the lawmaker's address.
Upon this, Ichungwa'h challenged the crowd that he could not be intimidated by the heckling.
"Let me tell you. No one can shout me down. I cannot be intimidated," he said.

Despite the noise, he tried pacifying them by mentioning on the affordable housing project, sponsored by President Ruto but the crowd grew more wild on him.

"Mr President, the people of Kware know affordable housing is here, and all the work (placing cabro in affordable housing units) here should be given to the youth," Ichung'wah stated, but his address was watered down by the protest.

The Mp was finally overpowered by the hecklers overwhelmed and passed the microphone back, with a parting shot;

"I want to tell you, President Ruto, that here in Ol Kalou and the whole of Nyandarua, no one can intimidate me," he warned in annoyance.

Nyandarua's Woman Representative, Gitau Faith Wairimu, was also jeered during her address, but she defied the protest thanking the President for the development projects and urging him to ignore the noise, stating that it is not characteristic among the people of Nyandarua.

"Mr. President, I sincerely thank you. This is how Nyandarua county is. I appreciate that you are helping us with our hospital, which has been stalled for several years. We also thank you for committing to renovate our stadium, which has remained untouched for 15 years. I want to tell you thank you and please ignore the noise," she said.

Moreover, the president launched and confirmed various projects in Nyandarua, including the construction of eight markets, which will provide farmers with a stable and reliable space to sell their produce.

The Head of State also confirmed that, procurement was being processed, while some of the markets in Ndaragua and Mile Kumi, were 60 per cent done.
