ODM-NADCO COMMITTEE DELIVERS FIRST PROGRESS UPDATE

A committee established by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to oversee the implementation of the Ten-Point Agenda and the NADCO report has delivered its first official update. In a press briefing dated Friday, August 15, 2025, and shared on the ODM Party’s X account on Saturday, August 16, the committee announced the appointment of Javas Bigambo as its Vice Chair. The five-member team was formed on August 6, 2025, following a mutual agreement between President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga to spearhead their shared reform initiatives.

The committee is led by Senator Agnes Zani as Chair, with Hon. Fatuma Ibrahim, Gabriel Oguda, and Kevin Kiarie serving as members. “We are grateful to the two principals for entrusting us with this responsibility,” the committee stated. “We are pleased to confirm that our first report, in line with our Terms of Reference, has been finalized.”

The committee emphasized that the public would receive regular updates as their work progresses, especially on stakeholder engagement plans. To facilitate broad consultations, five subcommittees have been formed to engage with key groups across various sectors. These engagements will involve the arms of government, civil society, trade unions, youth organizations, religious groups, academic institutions, as well as representatives of women, persons with disabilities, and minority communities.

In a commitment to inclusivity, the committee noted, “We aim to implement this broad framework through inclusive and far-reaching consultations with the public and relevant institutions.” They added that part of their mandate includes aligning current policies, legislation, and administrative actions with the objectives outlined in both the Ten-Point Agenda and the NADCO report.
