A police officer is dead following a confrontation with his senior colleague at a woman’s apartment in Kitengela, Kajiado County.
Police Constable Manasseh Ithiru, attached to Kitengela Police Station, died after falling from the fourth floor of Geoffrey Flats early Friday August 8, 2025, morning. According to a police report, the 28-year-old officer had gone to visit 27-year-old Irene Wavinya Nzioka at her apartment when he encountered Sergeant Abubakar Said of the CIPU EPZ Camp in Athi River — who is also alleged to be in a relationship with her.
An argument is said to have broken out between the two men, escalating into a physical fight. Investigators allege that Sergeant Said overpowered his junior and threw him off the balcony. Ithiru’s body was later found in the parking lot in a pool of blood, with severe head injuries and other multiple wounds.
Both Sergeant Said and Ms. Nzioka were arrested at the scene and are being held for questioning as detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) probe the incident.
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fatal confrontation.
