POLICE PROBE DEFILEMENT, MURDER OF 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN OL KALOU

Police in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, are investigating the defilement and killing of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found dumped at her grandfather’s farm.
The girl was reported missing on Tuesday August 12, 2025, after leaving home to buy sugar. According to her grandfather, James Thiong’o, she had been sent to the shop while her mother—who had recently given birth to twins—was admitted at J.M. Kariuki Memorial Hospital.
Local shopkeeper Jane Wanjiru, who was among the last people to see her alive, said the girl bought rice worth KSh 60, two pens and a local snack before leaving to look for uji flour. She never returned home.
Her body was discovered the following day, with police documenting the scene before moving it to a nearby funeral home. Nyandarua County Police Commander Stella Cherono confirmed an investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made.
The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with residents demanding swift justice for the victim.
