President Ruto Apologizes to Tanzania, Uganda Over RecentTensions

President William Ruto extended a public apology to Tanzania and Uganda during the National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on Wednesday. Addressing recent diplomatic strains, he sought to mend relations with Kenya's East African neighbors.
"From Tanzania, if we have wronged you in any way, please forgive us. Our friends from Uganda, if we have wronged you in any way, please forgive us," President Ruto stated during his address. He emphasized the importance of regional unity, adding, "We want to build relationships that will move our countries forward."
The apology comes in the wake of heightened tensions, notably the arrest and deportation of Kenyan activists by Tanzanian authorities. This incident had strained diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The National Prayer Breakfast, an annual inter-denominational gathering, was attended by various leaders, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and First Lady Rachel Ruto. The event serves as a platform for reflection and fostering unity among the nation's leadership.
