PRESIDENT RUTO APPOINTS NEW LEADERSHIP TO NATIONAL POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION

President William Ruto has announced new appointments to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), introducing significant leadership changes. In a gazette notice dated Friday, August 22, 2025, the President named Amani Yuda Komora as the new Chairperson and Angeline Yiamiton Siparo as a Member of the NPSC. Their appointments were approved by the National Assembly on August 14, 2025, after being nominated on August 4, 2025, and having met all constitutional and legal requirements.

The nominations were officially communicated in a statement from the Office of the President, signed by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei. Komora, a human resource expert from Tana River County, previously served as Vice-Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC). He also held senior HR roles at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). He holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

Siparo, who holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, formerly chaired the National AIDS Control Council from 2016 to 2022. During her tenure, she played a key role in coordinating the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) across 49 countries. Komora and Siparo join current NPSC members Edwin Cheluget, Peris Muthoni Kimani, Benjamin Juma Imai, and Prof. Collette A. Suda in steering the Commission’s work.
