President William Ruto has publicly criticized former Attorney General Justin Muturi, who is currently the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, calling him “fairly incompetent”.
This was during an Iftar dinner at State House, Nairobi, on Tuesday, the President stated that Muturi had been “fairly incompetent” as attorney general in handling legal matters which concerned the establishment of Waqf, a commission that would be in charge of the management of Islam related endowments.
The President assured the Muslim community that under the current Attorney General, these unfulfilled matters would be resolved within months.
The President’s criticism of Muturi’s term as attorney general marks the climax of their growing rift, this comes in the midst of Muturi’s recent allegations that the Ruto government is responsible for the abductions and extrajudicial killings.
He further stated that; “The Government of Kenya is able to carry all of us, from different backgrounds, communities, and religions. Nobody needs to leave for someone else to come in. If anyone ever doubted that, now we have a broad-based government. Everybody is here, and bado haijajaa,”
