RUTO APPLAUDS POLICE EFFORTS IN MAINTAINING PEACE

President William Ruto has voiced his pride in the work of Kenya’s security agencies, commending their efforts in safeguarding peace and protecting citizens and their property. Speaking at State House on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during a gathering of senior security officials, President Ruto acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices made by officers across the country. He assured them of his administration’s continued commitment to improve their welfare. He noted that reviewing the terms of service and remuneration for members of the Kenya Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service, National Youth Service(NYS), and other uniformed personnel was one of his top priorities upon taking office.

The President also stressed the importance of a mutual relationship between the government and its security forces, saying those who commit themselves to national service deserve solid support in return. His remarks come at a time of ongoing national debate over the role and behavior of security agencies, particularly in the context of managing protest and upholding public order. He has also called on all Kenyans to rally behind the police and other security agencies to keep the country secure, peaceful, and stable. Ruto emphasized that peace, security, and stability are the pillars of a nation and warned them, Kenya would lose its identity and sense of order.
