RUTO'S BLOW AS 'MBUS' DEPARTS KK CAMP

President William Ruto's UDA has received another political setback after the exit of the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP), alias Mbus Party, from the Kenya Kwanza (KK) coalition.

DEP led by former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, confirmed its exit on Saturday , 26 alleging being excluded and failed political agreements between them and the ruling Kenya Kwanza.

“The Mbus Party is independent. We are not in any formal coalition. In coalitions, there must be formal agreements filed with the Registrar of Political Parties. We have no such agreement with UDA or any other Kenya Kwanza parties,” Kiraitu ststed.

While noting its role in supporting the alliance win in the 2022 elections, The Mbus Party expressed its frustrations with being left out of governmental posts and failure by regime to address the plight of the mwananchi.

This move comes about a month after Ferdinand Waititu's , former Kiambu Governor, Farmers Party declared its withdrawal from the Kenya Kwanza alliance , claiming a similar bone of contention.

Speculations see that, the continuous withdrawal of such parties would seemingly make Mount Kenya more slippery for President Ruto ahead of 2027.

As this happens, former DP, Rigathi Gachagua is ready to fish the Kenya Kwanza fallouts to his Wamunyoro camp. Former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi is a recent example of the same, following him visiting Gachagua along with a section of Meru leaders.

Moreover, former Uhuru's CS Peter Munya has dismissed reports of being appointed into President Ruto's cabinet, enhancing that he is instead , busy working towards his Meru Gubernatorial bid.
