ŠEŠKO AGREES TERMS WITH MANCHESTER UNITED, LEIPZIG HOLD OUT ON FEE

Manchester United have reached a total agreement with Benjamin Šeško over personal terms, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano confirmed that the 21-year-old RB Leipzig striker has agreed to a contract running until June 2030, marking a significant step forward in the Red Devils' pursuit of the highly-rated Slovenia international.

“Šeško wants to join United,” Romano posted on X, adding that the player has not shown the same intent to join any other club. “Clear feeling revealed yesterday here. Never gave similar indication to other clubs.”

Fee Talks Still Underway
Despite personal terms being settled, Manchester United and RB Leipzig are yet to agree on a transfer fee. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, with Leipzig reportedly seeking a higher offer, having already rejected earlier approaches.
Newcastle United were also in the race for Šeško and had reached a reported €90 million agreement with Leipzig, but the player made his preference for Manchester United clear early this week, effectively ending Newcastle’s chances.

Contract Details and Competition
Romano’s claims were supported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who said Šeško is “ready to sign a contract until at least 2030,” and that Manchester United are pushing to close the deal within hours.

Ferdinand Voices Caution
Former United captain Rio Ferdinand expressed reservations about the move, citing Šeško’s relative inexperience. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said he would have preferred a more proven Premier League striker, such as Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
Despite that, United fans are optimistic that Šeško could add firepower to the squad following a difficult 2024/25 campaign in front of goal.
