TSC CEO DECLINES NOMINATION

Former Teachers Service Commission(TSC) CEO DR. Nancy Macharia has declined her nomination by Murang’a County Govern or Irungu Kang’ata to serve as Chairperson of the Murang’a County Public Service Board. In a letter dated June 25, 2025, addressed to Kang’ata, DR. Macharia stated that he had received an offer from an international organization, which influenced her decision to turn down the county role. The letter was submitted on Friday, June 27, 2025 and she added that she had initially anticipated the position to be part time but later realized it would demand full time engagement.

 Governor Kang’ata had nominated Dr. Macharia along with Dr. Louis Mwende Musikali, Johnson Kang’ethe Kinyua, and Dr. Brian Lishenga Makamu as board members, with Oscar Kimani Gathura as the board secretary. Dr. Macharia’s nomination came shortly before the conclusion of her term as TSC, which ends on June 30,2025. Kang’ata hailed Macharia for her vast experience, saying she has the capacity to streamline issues of employment in the county.
