UDA SENATOR MUTINDA DENIES KSH10M BRIBERY CLAIMS

Nominated UDA Senator Tabitha Mutinda has dismissed claims that she received Ksh10 million to support the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The allegations were made by Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu, who claimed that senators who voted in favour of Gachagua’s removal were bribed.
Speaking during a televised debate, Mutinda swore that she never received any money and challenged Nyutu to provide evidence. “Bring the Bible, I will swear before God. I did not receive anything to impeach Gachagua,” she said.
Mutinda further argued that the accusations were politically motivated and intended to undermine her credibility. She also pointed to President William Ruto’s earlier remarks about lawmakers demanding bribes as proof that corruption within politics is a wider issue that must be addressed.
The bribery allegations have stirred debate within the UDA party, with calls for accountability and transparency growing louder in the wake of Gachagua’s impeachment.
