WAJACKOYAH CALLS FOR RADICAL OVERHAUL, SUGGESTS MILITARY COUP TO OUST RUTO

Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah has stirred political tension with a controversial call for a military coup to remove President William Ruto from office, citing tribalism and government dysfunction.
Speaking during an interview on Spice FM, Wajackoyah said Kenya is in urgent need of what he termed as “total liberation,” insisting that traditional political methods have failed to bring about meaningful change.
“For the betterment of this country, maybe we need a military coup… This country needs total liberation to move ahead,” Wajackoyah stated.
He accused Ruto's administration of perpetuating tribal divisions, particularly between the Kalenjin and Luhya communities, and expressed frustration over what he sees as a government that has lost touch with national unity and good governance.
The Roots Party leader also rejected any form of political collaboration that would compromise his values, clarifying that he is not interested in being “bribed with a ministry” to support the government.
Wajackoyah’s remarks have sparked sharp debate across the political landscape, with legal and political experts warning that any suggestion of a coup is unconstitutional and dangerous.
His bold stance comes at a time of growing dissatisfaction in some quarters over rising living costs and governance concerns under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Government officials have not yet responded to Wajackoyah’s remarks, but observers predict a heated backlash from both state operatives and mainstream political players.
