Harambee Stars winger Boniface Muchiri has been promoted to the rank of Corporal in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) following his outstanding performance at the African Nations Championship (CHAN). The promotion was presided over by Chief of Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, who praised Muchiri for his discipline, commitment, and excellence on and off the field.
Muchiri's impressive display at CHAN 2024, where he provided two crucial assists, played a significant role in his promotion. His dedication to both his club, Ulinzi Stars, and the national team, has earned him recognition within the KDF. As Ulinzi Stars' captain and top scorer for three consecutive seasons, Muchiri's hard work and talent have been acknowledged.
The promotion is a testament to Muchiri's dual excellence in sports and service, and he is expected to continue excelling in his future assignments. This recognition comes after CHAN captain Abud Omar persistently appealed to President William Ruto to approve Muchiri's promotion.
