IS KENYA A SAFE HAVEN FOR SUDAN'S RSF? ALLEGATIONS EMERGE

Kenya is facing growing scrutiny over allegations that it may have served as a financial and logistical hub for Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group accused of war crimes in the ongoing Sudanese civil war.

Intelligence reports and investigative findings suggest RSF-linked individuals may be operating bank accounts and owning properties in Nairobi. There are also unconfirmed claims that RSF intermediaries have traveled through Kenya, raising questions about possible diplomatic or logistical facilitation.

While there is no direct evidence of arms transfers from Kenya to RSF forces, analysts warn that the country’s porous borders and regional trade routes could be exploited for smuggling.

The Kenyan government has denied any involvement and reaffirmed its commitment to peace in Sudan through the IGAD-led mediation efforts. However, rights groups and observers are urging Kenya to tighten financial oversight and ensure its territory is not used to enable the Sudan conflict.

The RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), has been accused of ethnic cleansing, rape, and mass killings in Darfur, prompting international condemnation and calls for accountability.
