KENYA READY FOR BURUNDI

The Harambee Stars are going into the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Burundi on October 9, 2025, in Bujumbura, with confidence.

Captain Michael Olunga was optimistic of the team's preparation and fighting spirit as the players said they are keen on maximizing the points at stake.

"Most of the players have already arrived. We are positive and each of the players is ready for the assignment ahead," Olunga said.
Head Coach Benni McCarthy shared the captain's views, insisting that the team is looking for nothing less than three points.

"It is a chance for us to gain maximum points; we know what is at stake as we enter the lion's den," commented McCarthy.

The coach expressed that the technical team analyzed the last game against Burundi and changed their tactics.
"This isn't a revenge, but an opportunity for all of them to play their hearts out for their country," he said.
"We respect our opponents, but this doesn't mean we will hold back. We hope our opponents keep the same mindset," he added.

McCarthy also confirmed the arrival of the majority of squad members, including newly call-up Vincent Harper, who supporters are keen to witness in action. He announced small injury issues but is assured all players will be available on match day.

Kenya will be hoping to improve their recent form and make a strong statement in Bujumbura as the journey to the 2026 World Cup heats up.
