KNH MURDER:MOTHER QUESTIONS AUTOPSY FINDINGS

The mother of a patient murdered at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has raised serious questions following the release of the autopsy results, demanding accountability and transparency from the hospital and law enforcement authorities.
The deceased, identified as a 38-year-old, Edward Maingi Ndegwa, who had been admitted for treatment, was reportedly found dead under mysterious circumstances within the hospital premises last week. Initial reports indicated signs of foul play, prompting a police investigation.
According to the postmortem conducted at the City Mortuary, the patient died from blunt force trauma to the head. However, the mother of the victim, speaking emotionally outside the mortuary, claimed the findings leave more questions than answers.
“How does someone get murdered inside a national referral hospital with security and staff around the clock? Who was watching over my son?” she asked.
She further called on the Ministry of Health and hospital administration to take responsibility, accusing KNH of negligence and failing to provide adequate protection for patients under their care.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident, with KNH yet to issue a detailed public statement. The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) and the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) have also called for an independent inquiry into the murder and hospital safety protocols.
The tragic incident has sparked public outrage, with many Kenyans demanding answers and tighter security measures in public hospitals.
