MOROCCO WINS CHAN 2024 TOURNAMENT

Morocco's Atlas Lions have made history by winning the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) title, defeating Madagascar 3-2 in a thrilling final match at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, Nairobi. This victory marks Morocco's record third CHAN title, solidifying their dominance in the competition.
The match was a nail-biter, with Madagascar taking an early lead through Clavin Felicite Manohantsoa's stunning 20-yard screamer in the ninth minute. However, Morocco quickly responded with Youssef Mehri's equalizer in the 27th minute, followed by Oussama Lamliouli's goal in the 44th minute, giving Morocco a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Malagasy team fought hard, equalizing through Toky Niaina Rakotondraibe's smart finish in the 68th minute. But Lamliouli sealed the win with a breathtaking goal from almost halfway, lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper in the 80th minute.
This win cements Morocco's position as the most successful team in CHAN history, with three titles in five appearances.
