RAILA WANTS POWER SANS RESPONSIBILITY - GACHAGUA

Former DP Rigathi Gachagua has for long been trying to avoid direct confrontation with former Premier Raila Odinga – probably with the intention of charming him to his favour. However, his latest remarks have signified a stretch limit on his patience towards Raila.

Addressing expatriates on Monday, 11, Gachagua accused Raila of faking his presidential bids with the aim of getting a spot in power with no responsibilities on his shoulders.

"Raila doesn't intend to be President. He likes power but with no responsibility," Gachagua alleged.

The former number two went on to term his "cousins movement" as a powerful force, further claiming that Raila has constantly been misusing his "cousins" in each electoral cycle – without having true intentions of being president.

"Every elections he (Raila) has been mobilizing my cousins and cheating them that he is going to take them to Caanan, the moment he reaches there, he doesn't intend to be president, he likes power without responsibility."

He went on to accuse Raila of moving from opposition to government, with the aim of causing problems and for self-gratification.

"He is invited in government and starts eating, that is why he is always quiet," Gachagua continued.

Referring to the memorial event of the late political veteran Dr. Phoebe Asiyo, Gachagua weighed Raila's speech as aiming at regaining the "cousins," who he seems to have "lost his grip on."

He followed with a stern warning, requiring Raila to keep off from his cousins.

"Bwana Tinga don't talk about cousins, keep off family matters," Gachagua warned.
