Manchester City midfielder Rodri has returned to individual training as he continues his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The Spanish international suffered what looked like would be a season-ending ACL injury in late September but he averred to play some part in the 2024/25 campaign. His last competitive appearance was in a Premier League match at the end of September. Rodri also played a key role in Spain's European Championship victory earlier this summer, further highlighting the significance of his return.
On Friday 28, City posted a montage of the 28-year-old training on his own, where he was put through his paces with various running and football drills.
In his absence, last season's champions have slipped 20 points behind leaders Liverpool in the Premier League and been knocked out of the Champions League.
Manager Pep Guardiola has however tried to play down hopes that Rodri could be set for a return to action soon. Speaking recently, Guardiola said that the most important thing for Rodri now is to recover well.
"It's going really well and he feels really good, but step by step we will see,"he said.
Guardiola has further advised a cautious approach regarding his return to competitive play, emphasizing the importance of allowing Rodri to fully recover before reintroducing him to match situations. He also acknowledged that while Rodri feels good, a gradual return is essential.
