RUTO EXPOSES HOW MPS AND SENATORS ARE BLACKMAILING HIM AND HIS CABINET

President William Ruto has revealed that some Members of Parliament (MPs) and Senators are taking bribes to influence decisions in the National Assembly and Senate. Speaking during the opening of the Devolution Conference in Homa Bay on Wednesday, August 13 2025, Ruto said lawmakers are demanding bribes from the Executive, Cabinet Secretaries, and Governors to sway decisions in their favor.
“The legislature must also be held to account because there is something going on in our legislature that we must call out,” Ruto said. “There is money being demanded from the executive, governors, and Cabinet Secretaries, especially those who go for accountability before our houses of Parliament. It cannot continue to be business as usual.”
Ruto cautioned that it is not possible that committees of Parliament want to be bribed or demand to be paid for them to write reports or to look the other way in what is happening in either County government or national government.
“I have made it clear to the chair of EACC that there will be no sacred cows. There will be no telephone call from anywhere below or above to stop anybody from being prosecuted for matters of corruption.” He added.
