RUTO HOSTS 15,000 NAIROBIANS FOR EMPOWERMENT FORUM AT STATE HOUSE

President William Ruto on Saturday hosted over 15,000 Nairobi residents at State House for an economic empowerment forum, braving the morning cold to attend the event.

Youths were seen chanting “two terms” as they made their way to the venue, where several Nairobi MPs were also in attendance.

Speaking during the gathering, Ruto urged Kenyans to register with the Social Health Authority (SHA), promising that members would receive hospital services without paying out of pocket.

“Jiandikishe na uandikishe familia yako ili wakiwa wagonjwa wapate matibabu bila malipo yoyote,” the President said.

Ruto warned hospitals against engaging in fraudulent practices, revealing that the government had allocated Sh13 billion to ease the financial burden of treatment.

The President also announced plans to work with county governments to expand education facilities.

“I am constructing 250 classes here, from my pocket, because I want our children to get educated. Every nation which believes in equality must invest in education,” he noted.

Ruto further said his administration would employ more than 40,000 youths under the Climate WorX programme, aimed at empowering young people and securing their future.

The Nairobi forum is part of a nationwide series of empowerment events spearheaded by the Kenya Kwanza government.
