President Ruto's political wave today , pulled off massive crowds in the Genesis of his Mt. Kenya tour.
This is contrary to speculations which went that , the fallout between Ruto and Gachagua would tarnish Ruto's support in the region, thousands of residents, especially women, turned up in large numbers to usher him into the mountain.
Ruto's wave, kicked off in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, where he encouraged residents to practice peace as a means of ending cattle rustling and insecurity.
He also assured that his government has spent over 200 million shilling in rehabilitation of several schools in order to enhance several students to go to school.
President Ruto took that platform to hit out at his political opponents, urging them to prioritise presenting their policies to the public rather than attacking him.
He further highlighted that leadership should be ranked on the basis of policies, ideas and achieving the development agenda rather than initiating constant attacks.
“Mimi nataka niwaambie nyinyi mnaosumbuka na mimi, mfanye mambo mawili; Kwanza kama mnataka kushindana na mimi kwendeni tafuta sera,” Ruto stated.
Ruto also urged leaders to concentrate on service delivery, stating that they will be voted back to office based on track record.
“Let everyone do their work, the Members of County Assembly (MCAs), Governors, Women Representatives and even me, I will do my part. The people who will decide in the long run and the teachers to mark the performance record is you (voters),” he stated.
“And for those who will not have delivered, you take them home.”
Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, one of Former DP Rigathi Gachagua's vocal, defenders on Tuesday, ate humble pie and joined President William Ruto when he landed in Kieni Nyeri county.
The Gachagua allied Governor had been so vocal against William Ruto's administration, warning residents against attempts to vote in William Ruto again in 2027 after allegedly betraying the region.
This wave also carried along Nyeri Governor Kahiga , a staunch ally of Rigathi Gachagua, who surprisingly appeared at Kieni, hours before Ruto landed in the constituency.
Governor Kahiga was given an opportunity to address the crowd where he thanked the president for his development plans and added that nobody should threaten Ruto from visiting Nyeri and the Mt. Kenya.
"I want to officially invite you, your excellency for coming here to bring developments to us. I have seen you have brought us Ksh850 million for electricity and we thank you so much for this. I also thank you because you accepted to add us machines to Naromuryu hospitals and all the developments," he stated
The Head of State will be in Mt Kenya region for the next five days and has already received massive reception in parts of the regions he had already visited, Laikipia and Nyeri included.
