SAFARICOM SETS TERMS FOR NEW TAASI LOAN PRODUCT THAT WILL LEND USERS UPTO KSH 250000

Businesses will now be able to obtain financing through the Fuliza Biashara overdraft facility and the Taasi till and pochi products. Taasi, a Safaricom business credit product offered in partnership with Pezesha, KCB Group, Sidian Bank, and DTB Kenya, provides short-term financing for MSMEs, ranging from KSh 1,000 to KSh 250,000.
This is subject to eligibility based on a minimum of six months of active transactions on the Pochi la Biashara and Lipa na M-Pesa business till platforms. "The Taasi loan product is available for Lipa na M-Pesa business tills and Pochi la Biashara accounts. Pay bills are not eligible," Safaricom clarified in a statement to TUKO.co.ke. Funds are immediately transferred to the user's M-Pesa wallet upon approval, with adjustable repayment terms ranging from 14 to 30 days. You can use USSD *234# or the M-Pesa Business App to access the credit options.
Taasi Pochi is accessible on the Pochi wallet for individuals who use Pochi la Biashara or USSD *334*8#. Safaricom revealed that the interest rate for Taasi Pochi will be 3.85% for a seven-day loan, 4.71% for a 14-day loan, and 6.41% for a 30-day loan.
The loan will incur a one-time interest charge applied at issuance, so the total repayable amount—principal plus interest - remains fixed, whether repaid on the first day or the final day of the repayment period. Depending on their designated limit, Lipa na M-Pesa merchants can take out several overdrafts through Fuliza Biashara, with a minimum of KSh 1000 and a maximum of KSh 400,000.
