Businesswoman and Bonfire Adventures co-director Sarah Mtalii has denied claims of rekindling her relationship with ex-husband Simon Kabu following a viral video showing the two dancing together on a yacht during a recent trip to Tanzania.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, sparked speculation that the former couple may be reconciling. However, Mtalii clarified that the meetup was strictly professional, taking placeuring a corporate outing with their marketing team on June 30, 2025.
“We went with my marketing team together with my co-director, who is also my ex-partner, to celebrate on the yacht... it was not a big deal for us,” Mtalii explained, accusing online bloggers of sensationalizing the moment.
She further emphasized that her relationship with Kabu remains over, with their divorce expected to be legally finalized later this month. “Let’s not twist moments of professionalism and content creation into stories they’re not,” she said.
The former couple, who are still business partners at Bonfire Adventures, have maintained a cordial relationship despite their separation, often appearing together in professional settings.
Mtalii also expressed disappointment that media attention focused on the yacht video rather than their company’s recent achievements, including winning a tourism excellence award in East Africa.
The two announced their separation earlier this year, citing personal differences. They have since continued to work together for the sake of their business and children.
